YouTube Premium in Morocco: availability, benefits and price in 2026

YouTube Premium in Morocco appeals to everyone who spends hours on YouTube: tutorials, Botola match highlights, vlogs, online courses or music videos. Between ever-longer ads and not being able to listen to a video with the screen off, the free version quickly shows its limits. This guide covers whether the plan is available in Morocco, what it really includes, its price and how to get it for less.

Is YouTube Premium available in Morocco?

Yes. Morocco is on Google's official list of countries where YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium subscriptions are offered. So you can subscribe from the YouTube app or website, as long as you have a payment method accepted by Google.

In practice, this is often where things get stuck:

• not all Moroccan bank cards are enabled for international online payments;
• some users do not want to save their card on a Google account shared with the family;
• automatic monthly payment does not suit everyone, especially students.

That is why many Moroccans use a prepaid offer paid by bank transfer, like MySplit's.

What YouTube Premium includes

YouTube Premium is about more than cutting out ads. Here are the main benefits.

Ad-free videos

No more ads before, during or after videos, on YouTube as well as YouTube Kids. For a ten-minute cooking video or a two-hour live stream, the comfort is immediate. Creators still get paid through part of the subscription.

Background play

You can lock your phone or open another app without the video stopping. This is the most popular feature for:

• listening to a video podcast or a talk while walking;
• following a language lesson while driving;
• listening to a Quran recitation, a show or a playlist without keeping the screen on.

Offline downloads

Videos can be downloaded in the app to watch without internet. Handy on the train, on a plane or to save your data plan: download at home on Wi-Fi, watch on the move.

YouTube Music Premium included

The subscription includes YouTube Music Premium: ad-free, background and offline listening to YouTube's huge music catalogue. The advantage over other platforms: you also find remixes, live versions, covers and many Moroccan, raï or chaabi tracks published only on YouTube.

Handy extras

• Picture-in-picture on mobile, to watch a video in a small window.
• Enhanced video quality on some content, depending on the device.
• Resume playback from one device to another (phone, Smart TV, computer).

Free vs Premium: the comparison

YouTube Premium price in Morocco

The official price is shown directly in the YouTube app once you are logged in with a Moroccan account, with several plans (individual, family, student depending on the country). Google regularly adjusts its prices by country: to find the exact amount, the most reliable way is to open Settings > Purchases and memberships in the app. We prefer not to quote an official figure we cannot confirm, as these prices change often.

YouTube Premium or Spotify Premium?

This is the question we get asked the most. Both offer ad-free and offline music, but they work differently:

• YouTube Premium is ideal if you watch lots of videos (tutorials, filmed podcasts, sport, entertainment) and music is just a bonus. The catalogue includes live versions and content from independent artists.
• Spotify Premium is better if music and audio podcasts are your main use: personalised playlists, very precise recommendations, Spotify Connect on speakers.

If you are unsure, our article Spotify Premium in Morocco: price and tips covers the other option. At MySplit, Spotify Premium costs 39 DH for 1 month, and it is also included in the Movies & Music Bundle with Netflix, Prime Video and Shahid.

Tips to make good use of YouTube Premium

• Turn on smart downloads in YouTube Music: the app automatically downloads music suited to your tastes on Wi-Fi.
• Set the download quality of videos based on the space available on your phone.
• Create "Watch later" playlists for your lessons or courses and download them before a trip.
• Use YouTube on your Smart TV: no ads is especially welcome there for long videos.
• To learn a skill, combine YouTube with a structured platform like Coursera Plus or Duolingo Super for languages; our guide to useful subscriptions for students in Morocco gives you ideas.

Our verdict

YouTube Premium is the subscription that changes the daily experience the most for a heavy user: no more ads, background play and YouTube Music included. It is officially available in Morocco, but paying by card is still an obstacle for many. The MySplit offer at 149 DH for 3 months lets you pay once by bank transfer, with guaranteed access. To put together your ideal combination of subscriptions, see the MySplit guide.
